INFANTS

0 to 12 months

Some may not see why a newborn would need a chiropractic adjustment, but if you ask me this is such a crucial time in your child's life to get their adjustments! From being birthed to the 12 developmental stages in a child's first year, it is important to maintain structural integrity and neurological function. Adjusting a newborn is not like adjusting mom and dad. There is no "cracking". A newborn adjustment involves the gently touch of a pinkie with as much pressure as it would require to check if an avocado is ripped.

TODDLERS

1 to 3 years

The average two-year-old falls 38 times a day. Thirty Eight Times! That's a lot of trauma on a growing spine. Things like toe-walking, clumsiness, inability to squat, etc can all be a signs of misalignments in the spine and neurological dysfunction in a toddler.

Adjustments for a toddler are a bit different than with a newborn as your little one is now always on the move! A tool adjustment is the most common way Dr Blanchet will adjust a toddler as it can be difficult to keep them still or wanting to lay down. She will literally get on the ground with them and let them look around and/or play with the toys and adjust while they are occupied.

GRADESCHOOL

3 to 12 years

Shhh dont tell anyone, but preschoolers are probably Dr Blanchet's favorite age group The things they say always leave her laughing and smiling!

Here is when Dr Blanchet will start to introdcue manual adjustments with some "quacking" or as we like to call it "popcorn sounds" (with the approval of the parents AND the child). Developing a trusting bond with her patients is so important at this point. Kids at this point can really start to hold conversation and speak for themselves.

Here we mainly focus on the development of those growing spines especially during growth spurts.

At this point most patients are taller than Dr Charlotte ;) and she does mainly use a manual technique if permitted. From the competitive dancer to the baseball player, most kids have a very demanding life! From sitting all day at school to sitting at home and being on their phone, Dr Blanchet really likes to start education them on proper posture and how to grow and build a strong spine in order to perform better academically and physically.
